Does this cost me anything?
No, our service is completely free for you. There is no hidden fee or catch. Dentists pay only when a match is accepted, allowing them to work with patients who match with their skills and expertise.
How long does it take to get matched?
Most patients hear back between 3–24 hours.
Each dentist personally reviews your needs before accepting your case . They’re not auto-assigned. This gives you higher-quality matches but can take a little extra time, especially if your request comes in during evenings, weekends, or when dentists are out of office. If the first dentist isn’t the right fit, we immediately reach out to others at no cost to you.
Will I always get matched with a dentist?
Most patients who complete their profile are matched within 24 hours, but we can’t guarantee a match in every situation.
You may not get matched if:
Your budget and treatment needs are too far apart
You’re in an area where we don’t have participating dentists yet
Your case requires a specialist outside our current network
No dentist feels they’re the best fit for your specific situation
What happens if a match doesn’t happen right away:
If a dentist passes, your profile automatically moves to the next qualified dentist
If we still can’t find a match, we’ll contact you with an explanation and next steps, which may include adjusting your preferences or letting you know when new dentists join in your area

Do you accept HMO or Medicaid insurance?
Not at the moment. Our platform currently works only with PPO and private-pay dentists because these plans allow dentists to choose which cases they take through our matching system.
Medicaid and HMO plans have their own networks and rules, so they can’t connect to our system yet.
We hope to support more insurance types as we grow.
What if I just need a cleaning?
MatchMyDentist is designed for patients who are looking for help with specific concerns or treatment needs. Routine cleanings are usually easiest to schedule directly with any local dental office, since most practices can handle those appointments right away.
You’re always welcome to use our service, but it tends to be most helpful when you’re looking for a dentist who can review your situation in advance and confirm they’re the right fit for your care.
Why can’t I just choose a dentist from a list?
Because lists don’t know what matters to you. Our matching system focuses on fit: your needs, your concerns, and your goals , not proximity, ads, or paid placements. We connect you with a dentist who has reviewed your profile and believes they’re the right person to help.
